Life Of Leisure by Michael Marrotti

Content with my
current status of
Sitting on the
couch by myself
on a Thursday night
high on narcotics
Watching Woody Allen
movies from the seventies
Eating Ben and Jerry’s
ice cream like a
satisfied housewife
Thinking about the times
I had three lovers
The pleasure and options
were phenomenal but
the pain was insufferable
Speaking of lovers
she’ll be home
in the morning
after her work shift
to handle this erection
I used to have problems
and nothing but questions
Now I feel like a poet
Who has all the right answers

Michael Marrotti

He considers poetry to be a form of philanthropy. When he’s not writing, he’s volunteering at the Light Of Life homeless shelter on a weekly basis. If you appreciate the man’s work, please check out his for his latest poetry and short stories.
