Coffee & Silence by Wayne Russell

No beer in sight to wash away the loneliness of
tonight nor of the boredom of the day that was.

Coming closer to the darkness of coffee river’s
flowing in streams, pumping through icy vein’s.

Partaking of the eloquence of awakened senses,
my weary spirit lingers like smoke rings sweet
nectar captivated, intertwined within steam and
cast into porcelain mug rapture.

It is close to midnight’s dream like sequence, but
I shall miss the train, this time; as the caffeine and
the silence of barren walls have their way with me.
