The Candidate by Jennifer Lagier

He insists he will address
our country’s greatest threats:
feminist notions,
uncontrolled wombs,
bleeding vaginas.

Promises on his watch
appointment of Supreme Court justices
who are pro-fetus,
abstinence only,
Christian fundamentalist
right-to-lifers.

Will preserve the sanctity
of single sex bathrooms.
Make America great by
deporting Latinos and Muslims.
Roll back Obamacare,
LBGT rights and protections.

Run government
like a reality show,
drama and trauma,
rigged survivalist scenarios,
most of us losers.
