But she still feels
The rough spots
Of built-up filth
Sitting on the surface
Alcohol never was
A suitable solvent
It got the liver
Well-liquidated though
And sometimes
That was enough
A familial lie
She’d been telling
Herself
The repetition
Gave credibility
To the blatant
Bullshit
