Gravity by Chris Butler

Why does everything
have to be so heavy?

Why can’t float to
a cloudy heaven?

Why does the boulder
chain my weight
down to the ground,
when I could fly
with the blue birds?

Why must I sink
in quick sand
on planet earth?

Why can’t I rise
to another
stratosphere
far away
from here?
