He’s Changed Hats by Paul Tristram

I’ve got him again… on Camera 18.
He’s just stepped out of the back doors
of The Quadrant Shopping Centre,
by the bottom of the carpark steps.
I nearly missed him, he’s ‘Changed Hats’
& turned his hoodie inside out…
but it’s him alright, I can tell by his walk.
He’s heading towards St. David’s Square,
wait, he’s just dropped something
into the litter bin just by the corner
off to the left, away from the main bus station.
No, I couldn’t make out what it was,
he was far too quick, I almost missed it,
I think it came out of his sleeve?
How’s the victim doing? much blood?
eh… nasty… that’s gotta hurt… animal!
Ok, he’s now on the blower, he’s stopped,
starting to look and act increasingly nervous.
Where’s the Boys In Blue, already mun?
Shit! he’s bolted… moving fast,
towards the footbridge… no wait,
clever bastard’s zigzagging the street
(They’ll need to halt all traffic
before the dogs can follow him anywhere!)
Damn, he’s just gone over a garden wall
off to the right next to Steven’s Corner Shop,
the one with the big red gate & A.C.A.B graffiti,
he’s like lightning, I’ve lost him completely.
Nuh, no distinguishing marks, roughly 5’11” tall,
slim build, brown hair, 2 different dark baseball caps
and a black/grey reversible hoodie with no motif,
that description could be anyone, couldn’t it?
