One Flesh by Obed Ladiny

pebbles scratch,
deposit sand
on their hearts

gold ring burns
fourth finger
to an unbearable itch

hornets fly out of their mouths,
spread to corridors
into their children’s ears

once they leaped
eager as deer
into this jagged saw-teeth

Obed Ladiny is an emerging lover of poetry, who lives in Tennessee. His favorite poets include Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, and Billy Collins. In his spare moments between working and reading, he contributes his own to the art.
