Will (April, 2015) by Mathis Wilde Radke

from behind the library
the distinct ping of leather
trajected off aluminum outward
the generational talk between
so down to the field i’m carried
wondering if i’ll continue the lineage
of the hurl, the hit and the toss
will the old man live to see this exchange
will the system oblige
will she see the benefit
will his interest rise above or without resentment
will i put the necessary pieces properly in place
