Vacuum by Katie Lewington

we drive by
devoid of sheep or scarecrows
you warn of pheasants
trees gloat over us
and on the road
cars slow

the field in ten years

will there be anything left

migrants, sold land
farmer Brown

move on, traffic

what about developments
town plans
expanding and widening

will be booming!

I smell the BS fertiliser already

nurturing, then killing nature for another
concrete jungle.
