Midnight Shopping by Nathanael William Stolte

in front of the can return
there is an unwashed man
in baggy blue hospital pants
feeding rancid cans into a hungry machine
i wonder if im the only one who can see him
the machine will never be satisfied

much like him

much like me

it is dark
cold and rainy

i fear that he is invisible
