Technology Takes No Prisoners by Gregg Dotoli

that wheel crushed the Luddites
Edison gloated with pride
frowning upon
dead men walking lamp-makers
while the bookkeeper has been murdered
Technology takes no prisoners
the highway tollman understands
despite a manufactured job
it’s all a ruse
technology like post cluster bombing silence
has the last word

it’s all on VHS
Technology takes no prisoners
the feeble slowpokes gently discuss ethics
as kidneys grow in tubs
hearts and brains coming right up

and that Fukushima wall
can’t break
Technology takes no prisoners
for we’ll all
be golden radiating , glowing
tech-sick uranium poisoned
with animal, plant and fish

There is a light
It’s coming
we’re strapped in sheer terror
on the cool hard steel tracks
in the shadowy , silent tunnel
waiting for a final pass through

Technology takes no prisoners
