The Clawful Truth by Mike Zone

Lobsters crawling out tanks- menacingly
water monsters- out for revenge
all it took was some careless kid
with a tuning fork and unprovoked malice
an old auditor- suit in tatters
bitches about  welfare queens and king
their royal children feasting on steak- lobster
he struggles with a brand new- paid off
house, car, debt free
doing the food stamp tax-dollar jig
he can’t breathe
claws pinching his nostrils
lobsters in the streets
scurrying into formation
snipping flesh, chewing meat
a crustacean revolution
going into sewers- dismantling pipes
Urizen or who seems to Urizen
with dreadlocks- picks two up
mashes them together to make love
“Stay out of Jerusalem, this is not Jerusalem
What is holy, thou is not.”
sinew sings- torn apart
shredded coat- desolate shoes
a leftover beard dances between mandibles
they’re digging, tearing up land, pulling apart Earth!
ocean levels rising- they swim away
destruction satisfied
some stay in mockery
Norman Rockwell clothing and wigs
shove heads in saltwater aquariums
inhale deep, snatch a kid from the cage
boil’em for dinner
serve with mussels and sweet potatoes
“Make the planet great again.”
