Warm Shelter, Cold Night by Kyle Hemmings

In the intersection of light and shadow
within the shelter of forgiving walls
under a mess of down comforters
the drift of lavender oil,
I watch you levitate from the bed
your dreams too light for gravity
to define          your pink thighs
straddling the dark clouds of the night
the trail of your snores tickling
the nipples of stars.

Kyle Hemmings lives and works in New Jersey.  His latest collections of poetry/prose are Future Wars and Split Brain, both on Amazon Kindle. He loves 50s Sci-Fi movies,  manga comics, and pre-punk garage bands of the 60s.
