I Must Get Rid by Paul Brookes

of these mites and flies,
unwanted thoughts,
painful memories,
as sip my Corvid blood,
shit beneath my wings.

Must sit in a nest
of wood or red ants
let them swarm over me
spray formic acid
on the unneeded.

I envy those that dust
in hot ash from bonfires,
and more so the one
as uses a lit fag to burn
the unwanted
from beneath its wings.
