The viewing
his brother
same age as me

his kids
play legos
by the casket
the same age
my brother and I were
when my father died

suddenly
I’m lost in a world of memories
I never wanted back
I want to offer comfort
but find no words

Jason Baldinger
Jason Baldinger is a poet hailing for the Appalachian hamlet of Pittsburgh. He’s the author of several books the most recent of which, the chaplet, Fumbles Revelations (Grackle and Crow) is available now, and the collection Fragments of a Rainy Season (Six Gallery Press) which is coming in September.
