Passion Has Its Own Way by Jennifer Lagier

Camille has vowed
to give wide berth
to the terminally stupid.
Finds herself unable
to bite her tongue,
listen politely to one more
opinionated moron lacking experience,
knowledge or facts.

She grits her teeth
overhearing remarks
spewed by the arrogantly clueless.
Especially those whose decisions
negatively impact her safety,
sanity, self-respect,
financial resources.

Camille loses sleep
as women’s rights
are continuously
overturned or eroded.
Vows to seek out
equally infuriated sisters,
focus what energy
she has left to organize, mobilize,
shut down the machine.
