Soon The Wet Soil by Ananya S Guha

Soon the wet soil
cut loose from rains
will create parched, dry
children playing with puddles
will shriek
and, sagging earth will lie grounded
rains lashing;
puddles of childhood
soaked trees branch into ghosts
night mirrors wily ways,
and once again
skies rejoice.

Ananya S Guha ( 1957) lives in Shillong, in North East India. He has been writing poetry and publishing his poems over thirty years.
